Physical therapy clinic to host grand opening

An Aspen Park physical therapy clinic will celebrate its grand opening March 12 with free gifts to some visitors and donations to the Mountain Resource Center.

Conifer Physical Therapy, owned by Conifer resident Mary Thuente and Evergreen resident Dana Amundson, will give away gifts to the first 25 people at the event, and $1 to the Mountain Resource Center for every visitor during the grand opening.

The event will run from 4 to 7 p.m., and will also include refreshments and prizes. The clinic is near King Soopers at 25577 Conifer Road, Suite 125.

Thuente and Amundson, who are both physical therapists, will offer treatment for orthopedic injuries, neck and back pain, neurological conditions and more.

The pair hoped to begin scheduling appointments by Monday, depending on how quickly construction on the unit could be completed.

For more information, contact the clinic at 303-838-7444 or visit www.coniferpt.com.

Greenhouse photos sought for contest

Mountain area gardeners can enter their best greenhouse photos in a bid to win a $25 gift certificate from Moore Lumber & Ace Hardware.

The Greenhouse Photo Contest is being held in conjunction with the Platte Canyon Area Chamber of Commerce’s monthly adult education series, Platte Canyon University.

Contestants can compete in one of three categories, depending on the size of the greenhouse: up to 40 square feet; 40 to 120 square feet; and 120 square feet and larger.

Judges will accept submissions until March 15, and contestants should drop off their photos at either Moore Lumber location, at 186 Mount Evans Blvd. in Pine or at 5195 County Road 65 in Bailey.

Submissions will be displayed at the stores, at the next Platte Canyon U meeting and possibly on social media sites.

The chamber’s next Platte Canyon U meeting — 6:30 p.m. March 18 at the Platte Canyon Fire Station on Crow Hill — will focus on high-altitude greenhouses and costs $10 to attend. Proceeds will go to the fire department.

For more details on rules, visit the Moore Lumber stores or call Kathy Baker at 720-924-8688.
