Blue Jay Inn could reopen: Historic Buffalo Creek inn gets roof repairs to prepare for possible sale

-A A +A
By Pamela Lawson

For 50 years, Katherine Ramus ran the Blue Jay Inn in Buffalo Creek, until, at age 86, she closed it in 1998.

And closed it has remained — with the exception of one day in 2001, when it was opened for high tea to host the centennial celebration of a local chapel.

But that could soon change if a sale in the works with an Arizona family goes through. The family, which operates a successful bed and breakfast in Tucson, has a contract on the property, and the deal could be finalized by mid-February if related transactions are worked out.
