Winds are believed to have contributed to a wildfire that started in Buffalo Creek near County Road 550 on Monday morning.

According to North Fork Fire/Rescue, the fire was reported about 5:30 a.m. and burned about 3 acres of land. While the cause of the fire remains undetermined, the department said windy conditions and warm temperatures were contributing to the blaze’s spread. No structures were threatened.

Several area fire departments responded, including Elk Creek, Indian Hills and Inter-Canyon.

As of noon, the fire was 100 percent contained, Elk Creek Fire spokesman Michael Davis said.
