Conifer senior Mike Fera placed third in the 800 meters and sixth in the 400 at this year’s 4A state track & field meet at Jefferson County Stadium in Lakewood.

Fera doubles medal count in second trip

LAKEWOOD — Not until he made the 2012 4A state track and field championships could Mike Fera envision himself actually being there. So when he made it, he was so excited that he wanted to experience that feeling again.
This year, not only did the Conifer senior make it to state for a second consecutive time, but he qualified in three events, including as part of the 4x400 relay team, and placed twice.
