THORNTON — Divers must have the acrobatics of gymnast and grace of dancers while springing into the air with the intent of flying face down into a pool. Even the slightest movement in the wrong direction can turn a near perfect score into a belly flop.
Those training at the highest level in the state showed their eloquence and athleticism at the Class 4A girls swimming state championships at the Veterans Memorial Aquatic Center on Feb. 11.
