WHEAT RIDGE — The fact that Rich Gavelda’s team was playing on the road instead of at home on Feb. 10 was disappointing.
After all, the Lobos, who lost 13 straight to open the season, did win two out of three before back-to-back losses and was playing at Arvada two nights earlier for a chance to host a first-round game in the 4A Jeffco League boys basketball tournament. A loss at Arvada, however, sent Conifer spiraling to a 10th seed and a road game at Wheat Ridge.
